閉会挨拶/Closing Remarks

Nobuya Ogawa,
President and Representative Director, Kyoto Research Park Corporation

I am pleased to be able to host HVC KYOTO again this year.I would like to thank Johnson & Johnson Innovation and Takeda, as well as our 13 partners, for their generous support in organizing this event. Thank you very much for your support.
Our guest of honor, Mr. Murota, Director General of Kyoto University's Office of Industry, Government and Academia, Mr. Morita of Modaris, Mr. Sasou of Cambridge Consultants and 6 speakers from the UK session, and with the support of the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry and many others, this year's conference was able to be held again.
I would also like to thank Professor Koyanagi and today's mentors for their valuable insights and guidance that contributed to the business growth of the companies on the panel.
The organizers of this year's event cannot help but pray for the continued growth of the start-up companies that took part in this event.
Unfortunately, due to the influence of COVID-19, we were not able to welcome you in Kyoto for the fifth time, but we were able to have a lot of people from all over the world view the event online.
Even under the influence of COVID-19, we had more than 350 people in total, about 100 visitors to KRP and 251 online viewers. Considering that last year's visitors were 250, we are very happy about that.
Our mission is to contribute to the creation of new businesses and industries from Kyoto, and we are working on innovation creation activities.
We provide an environment and opportunities for start-ups to be born, grow and flap their wings from Kyoto, such as "Miyako Entrepreneurship Club @ KRP" and "Turnkey Lab", a club activity to create entrepreneurs aiming at start-up businesses, and various sprouts are beginning to appear.
We hope that new sprouts from the various ecosystems in Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka, and other cities will appear at HVC KYOTO in the near future. I hope to see you next year at HVC KYOTO, and I would like to conclude by saying that I hope to see you all here next year.
Thank you very much.
