President & CEO, JOHNAN Corporation

[Summary]

Clinical trials represent a vital component of the health care system. The costs of clinical trials are also a concern due to the lack of funders or venture capitals. Statistically speaking, the labor cost of a clinical experiment in Japan is expected to be around 300 billion yen. The bio-medical robot implementation and maintenance cost is estimated to be about 11 billion yen. This raised a possibility for a prospective set up that can help in cost cutting on all fronts. This led to the formation of JOHNAN, which can reduce the cost of the clinical experiment by one-thirtieth with the bio-medical robot.

JOHNAN aims at developing the best medical devices such as ODM and OEM accelerators in Japan to overcome the issues that pop up in the clinical research process, such as repetitive work, long working hours, human errors and cross-contamination risks.

The medical lab robots are of high cost, and the process of learning is time-consuming. To overcome this, they applied a low-cost multiple single arm. It enables fast learning of the medical robots by touching on the screen.

JOHNAN's business model targets institutions promoting clinical experiments around the globe. The value that will be provided to the key partners includes low-cost facility investment and operation, simplification of the process, and efficiency improvement of the clinical experimental work.

"This is a very wonderful technology you just presented. I really have more interest to have further discussion."Dr. Laura Holberger, BioLabs
