【Event Report】HVC KYOTO 2025 Demo Day

We held the "HVC KYOTO 2025 Demo Day" on June 30 - July 1, 2025.
This year, the 10th year of the event, 22 startups (including entrepreneurial researchers who want to commercialize their research achievements) were selected in two categories, "Biotech" [drug discovery, biotechnology, and regenerative medicine] and "Medtech" [digital health and medical devices]. During the DemoDay, the startups made pitches to global pharmaceutical companies participating as advisors and partners, and held individual business meetings.

Demo Day Participants Attribute

Day 1 1to1 Individual Business Meetings
On the first day, individual business meetings between startups and partners were held. This year, 111 business meetings were held (up 11.3% from last year).
After the individual business meetings, a reception party was held at GOCONC in the KRP for startups, partners and advisors, where opinions were exchanged just like in a business meeting, and the event was a great success from start to finish, and the participants went to the pitch session the next day with the same enthusiasm.
Day 2 15 Finalists' Pitch
On the 1st, 15 finalists selected through a business advice session made pitches to a variety of business companies, including global pharmaceutical companies, and Q&A Sessions with the advisors. In addition to finalists' pitches, keynote speeches, information sessions and fireside session were given by international guests at the main venue. In the exhibition hall where startups and alumni displayed their products and other items, there was a lot of interaction that contributed to business collaboration and investment discussions.

You are welcome to come to the Demo Day and interact with participants with diverse backgrounds through exhibits and individual meetings with the pitch speakers. Online participants will also have the opportunity to meet the speakers. For companies that join us after the Demo Day, we will provide opportunities to connect with past speakers through individual introductions and post-event events upon request.
